Keep your operating system up to date with patches, service packs, hot fixes, etc.
Windows, Apple's OS X, and most Linux distributions include an update option. Run
the update on a regular basis or configure it to automatically download and install
updates. Keep your browser patched and up to date as well. The default browser that
came with your operating system will probably update with the operating system but
any third party browsers, such as Firefox and Opera, will need to be updated independently.
If your browser comes from your Internet service provider’s software, like America
Online, install the latest versions of their software as they become available.
